SSN4PSI and UNOSSC organizing webinar titled “Future of Work: Uninterrupted Skills and Post COVID Jobs” on July 2020 Time: 7:00pm – 8:45pm BST (Bangladesh Standard Time)
For the last few years world have been petrified by the challenges of Fourth Industrial Rev olution, such as -threats to millions of jobs as well as concerned about new opportunities coming from the combination of new technologies, shifts in demand and business models. But, all were considering to have at least two years to figure out a course of action in collaboration with developed and developing countries who are in the same boat, albeit different socio-economic levels. Whereas the outbreak of COVID-19, has lead countries to unfold things in five to seven weeks which were supposed to be unfolded in five to seven years. The COVID-19 crisis is expected to wipe out 6.7 percent of working hours globally which is equivalent to 195 million full-time workers. Policy level intervention for protecting jobs, supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, and informal sector workers through economic response and recovery programmes are crucial in developing countries.
In this context, The South-South Network for Public Service Innovation (SSN4PSI) will organize webinar in collaboration with United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation Office (UNOSSC), focusing on Future of Work: Uninterrupted Skills and Post COVID Jobs. This webinar will discuss and share some experiences from the Network members, expertise, academia and governments to tackle and answer some questions regarding post covid work type, needed skill sets, industry and academia collaboration, policies, knowledge sharing etc.
The primary objective of this webinar is to share knowledge, experience and replicable solutions among the countries around the world promoting south – south and triangular cooperation. This specifically aims at ensuring knowledge sharing on COVID crisis to ensure initiation of appropriate responses in COVID-19 crisis and accelerate post COVID recovery.
