A matchmaking workshop titled “Effective Matchmaking for Public Service Innovations through South-South Network” took place on the sidelines of the Global South-South Development Expo 2022 on 14 September at the UN Conference Center in Bangkok. The Government of Bangladesh (GoB), UN Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) and South-South Network for Public Service Innovation (SSN4PSI) jointly organized this side event of Global South-South Development Expo 2022. The main objective of the side event at the GSSD Expo 2022 is to identify more novel innovations for scaling-up public service innovation with a special focus on sustainable COVID-19 recovery, more specifically.

  • Facilitate match-making among participating countries and other relevant stakeholders;
  • Facilitate an inclusive understanding of the kind of service delivery innovations that create sustainable impact and process of creating that impact;
  • Exhibit proven pathways from innovation prototyping to up-scaling;
  • Explore more broadly the role of public service innovations in the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals in the COVID-19 reality
  • Bring the South-South Matchmaker Volume III (best practices 2021-2022) to broader range of global audience and disseminate knowledge.


The main objective of the event is to develop a deeper understanding and broader exchange in the Global South by identifying vital and novel innovations for scaling-up public service innovation, more specifically;
  1. Facilitate match-making among participating countries and other relevant stakeholders;
  2. Facilitate an inclusive understanding of the kind of service delivery innovations that create sustainable impact and process of creating that impact in Global South
  3. Facilitate the inclusive understanding of the good practices identified to address the COVID-19 pandemic in Global South
  4. Exhibit proven pathways from innovation prototyping to up-scaling
  5. Explore more broadly the role of public service innovations in the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals.


This event was organized by The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), South-South Network for Public Service Innovation (SSN4PSI) and supported by UN Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) on 31st October, 2019 in Mumbai, India. The primary objective of this matchmaking workshop is to bring together government representatives, relevant multi-stakeholders in India and across South Asia in order to enhance the exchange of knowledge by sharing and learning from regionally relevant and scalable solutions addressing the challenges on education, skills, and employment. Besides, the matchmaking workshop will be-
  1. Identifying underemployed and unemployed youths and developing their skills for the market;
  2. Exploring competitive advantages and entry points in favor of youth training, expertise and jobs in the community for the public sector, corporations, and other partners.
  3. Promoting community development through proven methods to engage;
  4. Emphasizing that a sustainable future is possible if youth are employed and integrated into their communities.


The main objective of the Astana Workshop is to develop a deeper understanding and broader exchange in the Global South by identifying vital and novel innovations for scaling-up. More specifically, the event will aim to:
  1. Empower match-making to catalyze partnerships among participating countries on public service innovations.
  2. Facilitate an inclusive understating of the kind of service delivery innovations that create sustainable impact and process of creating that impact;
  3. Enable pathways from innovation prototyping to up-scaling;
  4. Explore the role of public service innovations in the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals;
