Skills, Employment & Entrepreneurship development collaboration between Nigeria and Bangladesh
UNDP’s Aspire to Innovate Programme (a2i) has developed a successful partnership with the “Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF)” from Nigeria to strengthen the capacity of the youth, industries, and academia to ensure the skills needed for the workforce. LSETF have expressed their interest to replicate a2i’s National Intelligence for Skills, Employment & Entrepreneurship (NISE2) platform, which is acting as a one-stop solution & matchmaking platform for serving the purposes of youth, industries, and training service providers (TSPs) and ensure decent employment & entrepreneurship opportunities holistically. Till now, 3,00,000+ unemployed youths have already enrolled in multiple skill development programmes through this portal in Bangladesh. Furthermore, 1000+ industries and 1000+ training service providers have registered in the portal. To ensure Nigeria’s replication, the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) is offering the necessary technical assistance.
